Our Kitchen Rules Program

if you want to learn, we can teach and we have the perfect cooking and baking sessions, just for you.

Our ‘Cooking and Baking’ sessions are designed for small groups or individually tailored one on one sessions to meet specific goals. Clients can attend individually or bring their support person. 

Choose from sessions that include; food safety & hygiene, cooking, baking,  methods, menu planning, shopping and meal preparation. We even have a knife licence program to teach you how to use knives safely.

  • Cooking
    Cooking is the process of preparing food using heat and combining ingredients. Cooking methods include; roasting, frying, grilling, barbecuing, smoking, boiling, steaming, and braising. Knife skills and use of appliances.
     
  • Baking
    Baking is a type of cooking that uses dry heat, usually an oven, to alter the chemical composition, texture, and flavor of ingredients. Baking requires more precise measurements and temperature. Use of specific tools and appliances.

 

Our cooking and baking sessions are a lot of fun. And of course you get to enjoy eating after each session or you can take your masterpieces home to share with others! 

Programs are suitable for children aged 6-15 and adults 16+.

We also offer a mixed age home school session during the day each week.

16+ clients will gain day to day life skills, as well as knowledge and skills that transfer to a workplace. Our kitchen teachers are happy to referee skills gained when applying for employment positions.

Our ‘Kitchen independence’ sessions are designed to build confidence using kitchen tools, equipment and appliances and we will walk you through all you need to know, including:

  • How to read a recipe
  • Knife skills & safety
  • Food hygiene & Safety
  • Making nutritious meals you’ll love
  • How to prepare ingredients
  • How to clean and organise your kitchen
  • How to look after your utensils and appliances
  • Setting the table
  • Sharing a meal with others

Gain confidence and independence in the kitchen whilst learning how to make all your favourite meals. 

These sessions are suited to 16+ and are held during the day, each week of the school term. It is recommended to book all 10 sessions per term. 

your two hour session will cost $75, which includes all ingredients and resources. If you book the term package of 10 sessions, the cost is reduced to $650. 

Don’t stress. We’ll supply all the ingredients, utensils and appliances at each cooking class.

There are just a few simple things we need your help with.

Here’s what you’ll need to bring to each one of your cooking classes:

  • Comfortable closed toe shoes for your safety
  • Hair tied up
  • Clothing – short sleeve or fitted sleeve, comfortable pants, shorts or skirt
  • An empty stomach
  • A positive attitude
